We offer courses in First Aid and Resuscitation for care providers and nurses working in Care and Nursing Homes.

 

Topics Include:

1. First Aid in accidents and trauma, including scalds and burns;

2. Recognition of when a person has become acutely ill;

3. First response, and how to maintain a situation until an ambulance comes;

4. Understanding the health needs of elderly people.

• Assessing emergency situations to enable safe, prompt and effective action;

• Administering first aid to casualties including the unconscious, those having seizures or choking, or the wounded, bleeding or shocked;

• Giving Basic Life Support Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) according to UK Resuscitation Council Algorithm;  

• Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator;

• First Aid for casualties with minor injuries (grazes, bruises, burns, scalds).
